    Divisional Overview

    Global Investment Research (GIR) generates fundamental research and analysis to provide investment recommendations on companies, industries, markets, and economies. Clients include asset managers, hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds, and major non-financial corporations.

    The Macro Research team focuses on the intersection of economics and financial markets across assets such as equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities.

    Job Summary

    We seek an analyst for the Europe Economics team in London. Working closely with the chief Europe economist and other economists, analysts will:

    1. Analyze high-frequency economic data releases.
    2. Develop and maintain forecasting models and proprietary economic indicators.
    3. Collaborate on economic research projects and publications.
    4. Publish occasional research pieces.
    5. Answer questions and explain views to sales, trading, and investment banking colleagues, as well as external clients.

    Compensation

    $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    This role involves analyzing and interpreting high-frequency economic data releases, developing and maintaining forecasting models and proprietary economic indicators, collaborating on economic research projects and publications, publishing occasional research pieces, and communicating findings to various stakeholders.

    Requirements

    Strong interest in macroeconomics; Master's degree in Economics; strong analytical skills and understanding of statistical analysis, ideally with coursework in econometrics; strong computer programming skills; excellent written and verbal communication; meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to work autonomously and in a team setting; relevant work experience is advantageous.
