The shift pattern for this position is 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in weekend and public holiday working.


This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the friendly Pharmacy team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.


As an integral member of the pharmacy team you will ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines for patients.


Following Standard Operating Procedures you will label and dispense medicines for patients being discharged from hospital and deliver excellent patient care.

You will also be required to co-ordinate ward medicine top-up services, helping to ensure that missed doses are avoided and medicine waste is reduced.

You will assist with the transfer of patients own medicines to downstream wards to help reduce duplicate ordering of medicines.

You will support nursing staff with good housekeeping of medicines.

You will also assist in the provision of emergency drug bags for the Scottish Ambulance Service.

You must have the ability to communicate effectively using clear written and spoken English.


A SVQ/NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy qualification and / or experience of working in a Pharmacy environment is desirable but full training will be provided.


The post holder will be based in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm.

You will be expected to participate in weekend working and the Public Holiday Rota.
