We are looking for motivated and ambitious university and college leavers to join our 3 or 5-year training programme to become qualified accountants.


Our long-established training program is supported by the industry-leading professional training college, which strives to give the best support possible to help students pass their professional exams and gain their qualifications.


Alongside the college, you will also be supported by our technical and experienced qualified accountants office team, who will help you grow to be a valued member of the profession.

Hamlyns offers a varied, rewarding and fulfilling training programme in accountancy with two routes depending on your qualifications. Both include;

University leavers:

3-year sponsored training ICAEW programme where you will finish as a qualified accountant


School and college Leavers:

5-year sponsored training programme, starting with AAT then moving on to ACA where you will finish as a qualified accountant

The Training Programme


You will be interacting with and providing support to industry leaders, as well as seeing how business works through first-hand experience.

Soft skills are the part of success that most trainees miss out on - so we make sure you'll join a professional networkthat will stay with you for the rest of your career, as well as learning how to deal with scenarios you simply can't experience in a classroom or as a part of a large competitive team.


For school and college leavers, we will support you throughout your Level 4 apprenticeship alongside the ICAEW, where you will first undertake the AAT, which is a standalone qualification in its own right, then you may be invited to continue your trainingwith us, working towards full Chartered status.


For university leavers, we will support you throughout the Level 7 apprenticeship, supported by the ICAEW, working towards full Chartered status with the ACA Qualification.

What do I need to apply?

Successful applicants will need the following:

  • A minimum of an upper second-class degree (2:1) from a UK university, all disciplines are considered
  • 3 A levels (A-C grade) with a minimum of 120 UCAS points (new tariff). Social and General studies excluded.
