Description

Working with the Team/Clinical Lead to ensure that the service operates in line with national guidance for Mental Health Liaison Services/Core 24 model.

- assist the team/clinical lead in the co-ordination of the clinical management of referrals
- triage referrals and undertake biopsychosocial risk assessments in accordance with the pathways relating to MHLS
- acting as a role model, providing advice and guidance to the team within the clinical area work closely with referrers providing expert guidance and support with a view to increasing the threshold of acuity of mental ill health cases managed in the Acute Trust.
- supervise the work of other staff in the delivery of care that meets the professional standards of practice
- co-ordinate the rota/off duty
- authorise and finalise bank shifts as appropriate on the roster system
- support the management of sickness absence and return to work interviews
- assist the team/clinical lead in the recruitment and retention of staff
- assist the team/clinical lead in the educational requirements of the team, monitoring mandatory and specialist training
- support managerial supervision/appraisals as required
- assist the team/clinical lead in managing complaints, incident reports, assurance reports in line with the division/Trust policies
- support student placements within the team and the local training of same, allocate mentors, preceptors and assessor as required
