Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people and promoting physical activity? Are you a skilled practitioner with an understanding of Play and experience with supporting the operations of family activities.

We are looking for someone with good customer engagement skills who will be working at the Ranger Station for the Active Reading Service running activities and monitoring bookings.


Role Overview


As a Ranger Station Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting access to facilities and ensuring standards are high both in terms of customer service and site safety.


Your primary responsibilities will include delivering services such as mini golf, low ropes, climbing wall, monitoring sports courts and supporting young people on site to access activities referred to educational play.

Managing booking systems and daily checks.


You'll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability.

About the role

  • Coordinate with team members and manage a diverse range of playbased and sports provisions that focus on increasing physical activity, educational attainment and improving wellbeing of young people.
  • Oversee the site opening and closing procedures when applicable, and report to team manager any building and safety issues identified.
  • Operate our booking system and comply with data protection regulations.
  • Your role will include direct support and you will act as a positive role model for young people, this may consist of supporting with our onsite activities, low ropes, mini golf, archery, football, and sports courts bookings.

Qualifications or experience

  • Experience working with young people or running similar leisure services.
  • Strong understanding of playbased learning and its benefits for young people.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated passion for supporting the personal development and wellbeing of individuals.
  • Experience with booking systems and outdoor activities ideally to include experience with running activities such as climbing walls, archery or similar.
