About The Role:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, your role is making sure that all building related areas are well looked after.

You are joining one of the most important teams in the company, turning our vision into a reality every single day and providing a great and well maintained facilities and operations.

You are super organised, possess a great knowledge of maintenance, housekeeping, facilities and H&S standards with an exceptional capacity to solve and prevent problems.

You are an exceptional communicator, which means you are an even better listener. You are charismatic, enjoy monitoring daily operations and sets stretching but realistic objectives designed to improve our building operates. You inspire confidence and always look to carry out regular spot-checks of rooms and public areas: we want to look good at all times


We believe that building effective relationships with our members will enhance the community spirit and everything we do should be designed around the community's well being.

Specifically, this is a great position for a person focused on the day-to-day facilities operations. The maintenance team is like the hardware to the community's software.

A key area that we need to develop is infusing our culture into every single person that walks through the door and joins the community.

This team is key to delivering a consistent well maintained experience to all our members. Your time will be split across different parts of the co-living operation, especially maintenance, housekeeping and facilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, making members feel welcome and safe, the moment they walk into the building on their first day to the moment they leave.
  • Ensure that the company's maintenance and safety policies and procedures are always adhered to.
  • Report and address any members' feedback, sharing with the relevant teams.
  • Being proactive and reactive to operational tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the building.
  • Responsible for the smooth operation and running of the physical building and all planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Work safely, conforming to statutory and company health and safety regulations, especially with regards to fire precautions, manual handling, chemical safety and storage, disposal of waste materials and reporting of accidents. Comply with other related statutory regulations, i.e. COSHH
  • Suggest and implement building improvements.
  • Monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels.
  • Use best business practices to manage and reduce operations costs.
  • When required support with interviewing and hiring of employees and assist with the reviewing process.
  • When required feed into future projects and make suggestions on how to improve the build.
  • Engage in the continuous process of training and development, including the completion of reviews, one to ones and performance appraisals with the maintenance team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

We're looking for a people person with a keen eye to details and focused on daily building operations.

Great relations with the community is also essential as you will be exposed to our members community on a daily basis and will work closely with a very passionate team.

Being able to think on your feet and make smart decisions, fast, is crucial. We work in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same.

This is a very important role within Ark Canary Wharf and that's why we are looking for people who have previous experience in this space.
