Description

We are looking for a friendly, approachable, efficient and team-oriented Pharmacy Support Worker to join the Radiopharmacy and Aseptic Services teams at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of two highly specialised teams with a positive team culture, consisting of support workers, technicians and pharmacists that work together to prepare sterile medicines for patients.


The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh's Aseptic Unit and Radiopharmacy prepare sterile medicines to wards and departments in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, as well as other hospitals in NHS Lothian, Fife and the Borders.

The duties of this post include packing and despatch of radioactive medicines, assisting in tray preparation processes for aseptic dispensing, participation in environmental monitoring, aseptic suite cleaning and disinfection programmes, stock management, administration and general housekeeping tasks.

In order to work in designated Radiation Controlled Areas, applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Previous experience is advantageous, although not essential, as training will be provided, but basic computing skills are essential.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00, as well as participation in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh's weekend and public holiday service rota.
