The role holder delivers defined revenue, product volume and quality targets through the acquisition, up-sell and retention of UK SME customers.

Sales opportunities are initiated by either an inbound call from a customer or outbound call as part of a specific campaign and in accordance with business requirements.

The role holder will answer and respond to customer enquiries efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in accordance with defined processes and procedures.


  • What you'll be doing
  • Work with a defined account base of small SME customers, who typically have single sites and relatively simple order needs.
  • Ensure an understanding of BT's products and services to be able to effectively acquire customers and ensure that the customer's needs are being appropriately met.
  • To drive outbound calls to acquire new customers in 1049 customer segment.
  • Typically sell BT & EE's standard products across mobile, connectivity, and IP voice. May sell products across multiple towers to the same customer if required to meet their needs
  • Develop successful, sustainable, and profitable relationships within the defined account base. Use strong communication and influencing skills to build relationships with key customer contacts and decision makers.
  • Following BT sales methodology and procedures to retain, develop and grow business such as; effective questioning to landscape accounts.
  • Thrive in a target driven, customer facing environment in order to achieve targets and KPIs. Targets may include; customer contact activity, pipeline health and SOV/ revenue growth.
  • Keep sales tools and systems up to date and well organized with accurate customer information, to support effective decision making and to comply with GDPR.
  • Identify both new business opportunities and growth opportunities within the account base
  • Influence decision makers to make timely decisions that help us achieve the business outcomes
  • The skills you need
  • Confident and effective communicator able to listen, influence, guide and convey messages articulately both written and verbally.
  • Customer service skills awareness of how to approach and deal with customers wants and needs, setting expectations and providing solutions.
  • Track record of achieving / exceeding targets motivated and driven by targets, able to focus on outcomes and organise workload to maximise these.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn able to take guidance, constructive feedback and follow processes taught during training, flexible to try new methods when guided to do so.
  • Sales experience is advantageous although not essential, being willing to learn, driven and ambitious goes a long way
