Overview:
The Bar Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Bar and the bar team as required.
The key aim is to provide club members and their guests with a consistently good experience by achieving and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
The Bar Supervisor responds to the Bar and Events Manager who will expect the appointee to be:- familiar with the needs and responsibilities linked to a role within the hospitality sector (managing the Club bar), covering both etiquette relative to customers and the practical aspects of operating a bar.
- punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
- proactive, well organised and able to manage his/her working time efficiently and effectively.
- comfortable in dealing with subordinates and customers should disputes arise.
- have a practical approach to dealing/solving problems.
- comfortable in dealing with computer associated items. (Training provided on software systems)
Job Specification (Key duties and responsibilities)
- Ensure that staff are smart and presentable and able to engage well with customers.
- Work with other staff in serving customers, this is a hands on role with overall responsibility for the bar while on shift.
- Ensure the staff are knowledgeable about the product range available, and the appropriate pricing.
- Ensure that all staff fully understand their obligations under licensing regulations.
- Ensure security measures such as closing and locking doors and windows as well as setting the alarms are understood and performed.
- Adhere to the Club's fire safety procedures. (Training provided)
- Adhere to the Club's established accounting procedures.
- Clean lines from the cellar when requested by Bar Manager.
- Respond promptly to concerns raised by Club Members or their guests. Ensure that all issues are dealt with, and they are recorded for review by the Bar and Events manager.
- Maintain accurate records of any incident or accident in the event of a claim being made against the Club/Trust. Whilst on shift and pass the information on to the bar manager.

- Supervising experience: 1 year (required)
- Restaurant management: 1 year (preferred)
- Bar management: 1 year (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (required)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Management: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
