Job title:

Head of Operations**
Location:Barrow-in-Furness - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary:
£85,000 + depending on skills and experience.

What you'll be doing:

Lead the development and delivery of functional strategic aims, plans and objectives that support the improvement of business programmes.
Manage resource profiles, training and development plans and all associated budgets (direct and overhead).
Identify risk and opportunities, challenging standard practice and support the structured improvement of functional processes and infrastructure.
Promote a safety Culture which ensures compliance with all Company and Health and Safety legislation.
Provide safety leadership via the SHE infrastructure and through visible management.
Understand cross programme requirements ensuring the delivery of capable people, processes, and organisation structures.
Ensure all Operations deliverables are performed to the required S,Q,C,D,P standard (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People).
Build, maintain and facilitate a culture which is consistent with the company's value set focusing on the development of trust in leadership.
Engage and communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders both internal and external to the business.

Your skills and experiences:

Leadership of people in a high pressure, challenging environment, dealing with complex and ambiguous situations. Able to work through ambiguity to focus the team on the right priorities.
Able to build strong relationships across different functions and organisational boundaries and influence key stakeholders who often have conflicting priorities by clearly articulating the situation in a constructive way.
Highly collaborative, using the strengths of a diverse team to deliver the programme objectives.
Experience of managing projects in a Production/Manufacturing environment is essential and a good knowledge of Core manufacturing processes and operations is desirable.
Significant level of personal resilience and persistence.

The Operations team:

You will be leading the development and delivery of functional strategic aims, plans and objectives that support the improvement of business programmes.

You will also develop, maintain and manage a professional Operations function that effectively interfaces with the rest of the Submarines business to deliver business success.

You will be reporting to Operations Director and will manage a team of 4 to 6 direct reports.
