We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to take responsibility for the sector transactions that feed into the management accounts, deliver financial and statistical KPI data for the leadership team and provide support and constructive challenge to colleagues so that they understand and improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Produce timely and accurate management financial information, weekly and monthly reporting
  • Ensure local reports and central accounts are reconciled regularly and accurately so that all data is consistent and robust
  • Responsible for financial management of, and reporting to contract customers
  • Build in depth knowledge of cost and revenue drivers and their impact on the financial results
  • Provide analysis and insight into business performance, identifying areas of improvement in order to drive profitability, cash delivery and support strategic goals
  • Understand and interpret customer and supplier contract, ensuring accuracy and compliance with terms from a financial perspective
  • Support leadership team decision making
  • Assure sector compliance with corporate standards and financial controls providing strong governance and mitigating risks
  • Work alongside the team to prepare budgets and forecasts, along with ongoing variance reporting
  • Build financial awareness in nonfinancial managers to ensure that all understand how they can impact on the business performance
  • Support business projects, including implementation of new contracts
  • Part of the Ops Finance leadership team, shaping business strategy and progress towards this
  • Develop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the sector and wider organisation and also key customer contacts

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:


  • Previous relevant experience with proven track record of adding value to an organisation
  • Fully qualified or actively studying for ACCA / CIMA and looking to qualify in the next year
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills and be an advocate of strong working relationships across all areas of the business
  • Professional manner and work ethic, used to working in a dynamic environment
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial awareness
  • Desire to continuously improve performance
  • Able to travel within the UK, with a full UK driving licence
