Working Hours:

_Monday to Friday either 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm, & Saturday 8:00am - 12:30pm (with one Saturday off per month).

from £27,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Sales Assistant (Trade Counter) to join ourteam in Liverpool.


Role responsibilities for Sales Assistant (Trade Counter):
As a Sales Assistant at Chestnut Building Centres you will assist in the day to day running of a busy trade counter


Duties include:

  • Providing excellent customer service when dealing with customers either in branch or over the telephone.
  • To use knowledge of building materials to assist customers.
  • Serving customers within the branch quickly and efficiently.
  • Checking and replenishing stock on the shop floor.
  • Maintaining standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment.
  • Ordering goods when required and receive deliveries into the store.
  • Ensuring paperwork is accurate.
  • Being responsible for cash and credit card handling within the branch and reconciling end of day cash takings as and when required.
  • Undertaking any reasonable task from time to time at the Manager's request as deemed appropriate within the scope of the post.

Person Specification - Sales Assistant (Trade Counter):

  • A personable, confident and approachable individual.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of general building, plumbing, roofing and timber materials.
  • Experience of stock taking and merchandising.
  • Able to work effectively in a team or alone under own initiative.
  • Computer literate and numerate.
  • Flexible 'cando' attitude.
  • An excellent communicator with a good command of the English language (written & verbal).
