Job Title:
Mechanical Estimator
Reporting to:
Sales & Estimating Manager
Responsible for:
Estimating and quoting of medium to large scale mechanical projects in the new build and M&E contracting industry with values from £100k up to £2mil.
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for new projects within agreed timelines, collaborating with project managers, suppliers and clients, conducting on site activities and providing concise presentations to ensure budgeting is accurate.
This role is for our larger value projects for mechanical projects on commercial premises within the new build, office fit out and M&E contracting industries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Follow and complete the estimating functions to set standards and to the agreed timelines.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors.
- Become proficient with all product offerings, estimating, and ecommerce software tools.
- Create quotes and respond to inbound queries and requests.
- Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products.
- Perform site surveys and attend prebid walkthroughs.
- Review mechanical drawings for incoming quote requests.
- Prepare and deliver the standardised presentation templates for each major project/ fit out estimation.
- Understand scope of HVAC work to bid.
- Communicate with the engineering department on new and current projects.
- Prepare job take offs.
- Liaising with the electrical estimating team to create combined M&E project estimates.
- Create high quality quotes and contractors' proposal for estimated projects.
Qualifications:
- DBS Certification qualification
- Full Driving Licence (no major penalties)
- NVQ Level 3 minimum in building services engineers or similar relative to the estimating role
Essential Skills Required:
- 5 + years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record
- Construction Estimating and Quantity Takeoffs skills
- Cost Management and Budgeting skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Experience with construction estimating software is a plus
- Ability to risk assess and identify business compromises (actual or potential)
- Excellent communication skills including:
- Dealing with situations and clients requests promptly and accurately
- Ability to collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders
- Excellent English and IT skills, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Must be hardworking, selfmotivated, reliable and trustworthy
- Must have a "Can
- Do" attitude
Job Types:

Up to £55,000.00 per year
