Spring & Summer Term (February 2024 to August 2024)
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, including lunch breaks
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide 1-1 support for a Year 6 student with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
The role involves assisting in the support and inclusion of pupils with special educational needs, following the guidance of the class teacher/SENDCO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a knowledge of various learning support needs
- Understand and address the specific needs of supported pupils
- Facilitate effective learning in both group and individual settings
- Assist in areas of weakness, such as writing tasks
- Support pupil concentration and task completion
- Attend to personal and health needs of pupils
- Establish a supportive relationship with pupils
- Ensure pupil safety and wellbeing
- Collaborate with the SENDCO to develop and implement support programs
- Monitor and record pupils' progress
- Provide feedback to the SENDCO and Class teacher
- Participate in evaluation of support programs
- Foster links between home and school when appropriate
