Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to be able a suitably qualified mental health professional a 9 month maternity cover Band 6 opportunity with our Mental Health Liaison Team.
The successful applicant will gain valuable Mental Health Liaison experience within a well respected and successful service.
You will become part of an established team, providing mental health assessment and care within both Gloucester Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals, working alongside other specialist practitioners and supported by the Consultants for Liaison Psychiatry.
- Offer an assessment service to patients presenting at the emergency departments with a broad range of mental health and psychological problems, and psychiatric illnesses
- Providing a mental health consultation, liaison and advice service throughout the departments
- Delivering a range of evidence based psychosocial interventions to individual patients who have predominantly selfharmed
- Assisting and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations
- Providing formal and informal education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff
- Representing mental health services within the Hospitals Trust.
- Providing a communication structure between secondary mental health services, primary care and nonstatutory services, as a means of ensuring the highest possible standards of patient care
