We are currently seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join our Repairs and Maintenance team to lead on complex disrepair cases.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Disrepair Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving housing conditions for our residents
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct thorough disrepair surveys to identify maintenance issues and disrepair within our housing stock.
- Investigate the root causes of disrepair issues and document your findings accurately.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work meet statutory regulations and safety standards.
- Work closely with contractors and relevant authorities to plan and execute disrepair remediation projects.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing resident concerns and ensuring timely resolution of disrepair issues.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing disrepair findings and recommended actions.
- To be the departments expert / competent witness in court proceedings representing the Council as required in court
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
- A relevant surveying qualification e.g. Relevant degree, MRICS or MCIOB
- Previous experience in disrepair surveying, property maintenance, or a related field.
- Specialist knowledge & understanding of Housing Disrepair Protocol
- Proficiency in building and housing regulations and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
- Project management and organisational skills.
