We are currently seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join our Repairs and Maintenance team to lead on complex disrepair cases.


ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Disrepair Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving housing conditions for our residents


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct thorough disrepair surveys to identify maintenance issues and disrepair within our housing stock.
  • Investigate the root causes of disrepair issues and document your findings accurately.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair work meet statutory regulations and safety standards.
  • Work closely with contractors and relevant authorities to plan and execute disrepair remediation projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing resident concerns and ensuring timely resolution of disrepair issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing disrepair findings and recommended actions.
  • To be the departments expert / competent witness in court proceedings representing the Council as required in court

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant surveying qualification e.g. Relevant degree, MRICS or MCIOB
  • Previous experience in disrepair surveying, property maintenance, or a related field.
  • Specialist knowledge & understanding of Housing Disrepair Protocol
  • Proficiency in building and housing regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
  • Project management and organisational skills.
