Action:
Doctors send tasks to you to action. The actions could be to call the patients to book appointments; chase up referrals; results etc. You need to review your workflow every day. Record in computer the feedback about each action. If any problem discuss every week about the position of actions with PM.

  • Scanning: You are scanning documents and letters sharing with your colleague. (Docman10). Every day approximately1.5hrs
  • Call and recall for Childhood immunisation : You will work on a list of patients every Month who missed vaccinations. Check the gaps and call the patients to book appointments with the Practice Nurse. We need to achieve 95% of target of childhood immunisations.
  • Call and recall patients for Smear tests; Flu; pneumococcal, Shingles or QOF reviews; and childhood immunisations. Sending SMS messages inviting them to the specific clinics.
  • Attend patients queries as much as possible and discuss these queries in the practice meeting to upgrade practice information system.
  • Make an appointment for the patient in accordance with the Access Guideline ( Patient should be able to see their doctor of choice, within 48 hours.
  • Receive incoming telephone calls and take messages and deal with appropriate queries. Record messages in a message book with proper date and time.
  • Initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with patients( try to avoid unnecessary calls)
  • Collect information from the patient for registration. Book appointment for the Nurse/HCA provide the patient with necessary information and questionnaire for example, Audit C form and urine bottle.
  • Ensure home visits are documented and remind the doctor for home visit.

Experience :
Working in GP Surgeries, or similar environment, can work with EMIS WEB, good at MS. WORD and Excel.

Good communication skills, willing to work as a team, good telephone manner, Flexible and proactive.

Education :
Minimum G.C.S.E. English and Maths included

Experience:

Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
- general practice or equivalent: 1 year (preferred)
