The Park Surgery - Phlebotomist
The Park Surgery has recently joined the Inspire Group. The group is guided by a passionate team of six dedicated GP Partners.

Inspire is comprised of 5 general practice surgeries working across three of Gloucestershire's Primary Care Networks (PCN's) - TWNS, South Cotswolds and St Paul's PCN.

Main Duties and General Administrative Responsibilities:

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients and ensuring their safe and accurate collection.

Your attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients in accordance with practice protcols
Collect blood samples and ensure proper labeling and documentation
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the phlebotomy area
Adhere to aseptic techniques during all procedures
Monitor patient comfort and safety during blood collection procedures
Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have
Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters

Experience:

Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital, GP setting or other clinical setting
Proficient in basic life support techniques
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to phlebotomy
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in specimen processing

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
Current certification as a Phlebotomist (CPT) preferred but not required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
