Role responsibilities


As Payroll and Pensions officer, you will help ensure all TFW payroll information is processed accurately and timely, for the payment of wages/salaries to employees whilst maintaining strict compliance with statutory and internal requirements.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Processing, reconciliation and reporting of pensions.
  • Processing of weekly and 4 weekly payrolls and all associated tasks such as checking of data, reconciliation of payroll files to costing files; creation and balancing of the BACS and submission of files to HMRC and pension via various interfaces.
  • Administration of all pension activity, including processing and checking of data, reconciliation of payments periodically and submission of reports to the pension provider.
  • Undertaking periodic audits on pension data and managing the pension scheme year end activities.
  • Working closely with the finance team on providing the relevant pension data.
  • Support the Payroll manager as/when required and provide cover of the payroll manager during their absence.

Who we're looking for

  • CIPP qualified or equivalent OR working towards a payroll qualification.
  • Demonstratable experience of working in a busy payroll department with complex terms and conditions of employment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of all payrollrelated legislation, and experience of administering pension schemes.
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Good standard of education and advanced knowledge of using Microsoft Excel

Welsh Language Skills


Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
