Description
Simplyhealth are on a mission to make healthcare in the UK accessible for everyone. We have 2 million customers across our Health and Dental products.

We aim to support and protect the NHS through the provision of outpatient support to help people live their best lives.

We're looking for our new Head of Clinical Product & Operations to own the clinical aspects of product development and operations, as we transform from a health financing business into a health solutions business.

This is a truly unique opportunity to be the voice of both clinical innovation, and patient safety, in an organisation that truly cares about our customers.

Reporting into the Product Director for our Corporate business, you'll be working cross functionally with product, design, marketing, commercial and even supporting our ventures team occasionally.

It's a critical role for us to bring our vision to life, and you'll be a leading voice in our product led structures.

In this role, you'll be trusted with spotting opportunities to improve how we serve our customers with clinical products.

You'll manage and evaluate the services we currently use as our main suppliers (GP provision, EAP provision etc) to ensure we deliver the best services possible.

You'll work with the wider product team, to add services and partners to our portfolio to meet the health needs of our users.

You'll monitor the clinical governance and effectiveness of the service alongside the operations of our key partners, working with your team.

You'll work closely with our Clinical Director, on the governance for Simplyhealth in support of our existing governance framework.

In addition to this, you'll work with the wider business to evaluate partners and potential investments from a clinical perspective.

You'll be able to quickly assess the important clinical and regulatory aspects of new partners and ask them the right questions.

You'll be comfortable inputting to and helping to shape our risk management processes, and continually improve these as we develop our services and products.

You'll work with the legal team to ensure that the products we develop stay on the right side of healthcare regulations.

You'll interact with marketing to ensure that we are making clinically valid claims about our offer.

You'll also ensure that we're providing businesses and customers with content which has always been clinically created or reviewed and you'll proactively monitor what we do across the business to ensure that every customer receives a clinically safe, best in practice, incredible experience of Simplyhealth.

We're interested in what you do and how you do things, not when and where you do them. Our 'smart working' approach gives you the best of all worlds - working from home, in our modern offices in Hampshire or on the move. This means depending on your role, there will be opportunities to flex when and where you spend your time to perform at your very best. For many of us this means day to day work can be handled remotely, but there will also be times when we need to come together in the office to collaborate, attend training sessions, induction, briefings and more. You might know it as flexible or hybrid working, for us it's just another day living our best lives

Ideally, you would:

  • Be a qualified health practitioner (e.g. medical doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or physiotherapist).
  • Have significant patient facing clinical experience we think this is important to understand our customers needs.
  • Have a track record of managing large, cross functional projects through to delivery.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Have a high level of agency and autonomy.
  • Enjoy spotting new opportunities to improve our customers lives and analysing those opportunities.
  • Be an excellent communicator, and comfortable working cross functionally.
  • Be able to prioritise well and identify the most important things to work on.
  • You'll be confident enough to share your clinical view on innovations with senior stakeholders in the business. We don't want you to hold back. Your voice is important.
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience developing a new product from scratch, and supporting the launch of a new product from a medical perspective
  • Experience managing clinical risk and governance
  • Developed software medical devices in the past or have a good understanding of the CE marking experience.
