Salary:
£25-27k per annum, depending on experience.


Job type:
Full-time (35 hours per week) fixed term contract until 31st March 2025

Leicestershire Cares is looking for a person-centred, enthusiastic and experienced Youth Work Project Officer to develop and deliver support for care experienced young people through our Powering Up Project.

The aim of the project is to support young people aged 15-24 with experience of the care system to develop key soft and hard skills, confidence, peer and community networks, and connections that will enable them to live happy and rewarding lives.


The Project Development Officer role is a key post in enabling us to develop and deliver meaningful support, projects and initiatives in response to our young people's goals and aspirations.

In particular, we are keen to develop support for young care experienced parents, but your role will work across the aims of the Powering Up Project.


If you are experienced in developing and delivering successful young person-centred projects, can build strong relationships with a range of partners, and have the resilience, creativity and tenacity to support young people who have experienced the care system, we would like to hear from you.

The project will give you opportunities to network locally and feed into policy and practice debates.

The project is part of the Esmee Fairbairn leaving care portfolio of work and so you will benefit from learning events and training with CEYP projects from around the UK.

Given the nature of this post an enhanced DBS check will be carried out.
