Description

We are recruiting an experienced
Supply Chain Planner, working a hybrid environment with you home based within travelling distance of
Stoke-On-Trent,
Staffordshire or
Castle Cary, Somerset.

The role will involve placing purchase orders and expediting deliveries in line with the MRP system.

The role will be responsible for optimising our inventory by ensuring that we keep the correct levels to service customers whilst avoiding overstocking or expired stock.

This role require good understanding of demand planning.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Create purchase orders in line with demand and forecasting systems to align with Customer orders and forecasts.
  • Expedite efficiently, accurately, professionally and within set time limits, to ensure best delivery dates are achieved then communicated within the business.
  • The prompt update of item master data regarding long term delay of products.
  • Work with all customer facing teams & Marketing when updates are requested in order to inform Customers the availability of specific products and communicate any availability issues (shortages, production delays, etc).
  • Identify any supplier issues, e.g., delivery timescales, price increases, obsolescence, MOQ requirements, etc., to the Supply Planning Team Manager in a timely manner.
  • Work alongside our procurement team to support the negotiation of best pricing and improved delivery times, for new quotes and source alternatives for delisted product by working with key stakeholders.
  • To work with Quality and Regulatory departments to ensure that suppliers are meeting the required standards of quality and delivery.
  • Monitor and feedback quality issues to proactively improve performance.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to improve efficiency and improve perfect order scores.
  • Ensure both the MWI Warehouse team and Suppliers understand delivery priorities.
  • Provide recommendations for safety stock based on sales, lead times and supplier performance.
  • Report on obsolete, clearance and aged stock, interpreting information in order to flag stock at risk to the Sales team to enable decisions to be taken.
  • Work with customer facing teams to track and recommend actions to reduce unsaleable/obsolete stock, including root cause analysis.
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to reduce ongoing instances of ageing stocks and work creatively to find ways to reduce immediate ageing risk.
  • Monitor stock expiry dates and strive to reduce ageing stock risk.
  • Handle stock traceability and quality queries from Suppliers and Regulatory department and investigate as appropriate.
  • When product is unavailable from designated source to work with Supply Chain Development Manager and Procurement to resource product from other avenues taking into account price and demand.
  • From time to time, additional duties and responsibilities will also be required in line with Company requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Be an excellent communicator both verbally and in written formats.
  • Previous strong working knowledge of SAP.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office inc. Excel and Word at minimum of intermediate level.
  • Strong eye of detail.
  • Good level of business acumen.
  • Background in fast paced multisite, high SKU count environment such as FMCG.
  • Proven people skills.
  • At least three years recent Supply Chain experience
Desirable

  • Ideally the post holder will have or be working towards a professional Supply Chain qualification (e.g. CIPS).

Up to £30,000.00 per year
