Our client is seeking a Head of International Trade to join a high skilled, knowledgeable and experienced International Trade team.

You will be responsibility of managing and leading the international trade function to ensure they deliver a consistent highstandard of delivery to our members and business in the region.


Their international trade offering spans across export documentation, customs clearance service and international trade services including training delivery, international trade and knowledge content, event delivery, and a support desk for internationaltrade queries.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental strategy including events and business development opportunities.
  • Departmental budget and financial resources planning, coordination and management.
  • Coordinate their Global and International Training provision, leading on departmental developments with the aim of enhancing the service offer
  • Lead management and planning of series of events for internationally trading members held online, in person and as a hybrid.
  • Gather, analyse, interpret and present extensive data and information e.g., prepare and submit management information in respect of documentation usage and trends.
  • Account management of Customs Clearance service users.
  • Organise specific aspects of export services and/or projects e.g., arrange training sessions in respect of electronic documentation, implement service improvement, assess market potential.
  • Undertake public relations and, marketing activities.
  • Develop marketing content plans for the department.
  • Assist International trade team in providing direct support to members on diverse and varying international trade queries and alongside RMs join visits and calls with members to provide support on international trade.
  • Promote continuous improvement in customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction is at the forefront of delivery, within parameters set by governing bodies (BCC).
  • Coach, mentor and lead international trade team.

The person:

  • Experience of working in an international trade environment direct experience of international sales/procurement or supply chain management/operations or customs processes within the UK dealing with EU/ROW trade is essential.
  • Strong understanding of UK customs procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of export, import and supply chain procedures and processes.
  • Up to date knowledge of factors affecting International Trade including political and operational and the drive to keep up with policy and operational developments in International Trade.
  • A good standard of general education, degree calibre or equivalent or potential to achieve this level.
  • Advanced IT skills.
