Trustees Needed - (Volunteer role - with out of pocket expenses paid)Home-Start Wessex has been rapidly growing over the past few years, supporting more and families across the area. Now, following our expansion into West Dorset we have an exciting opportunity for new Trustees to join our remodelled and dynamic Board of Trustees.
Home-Start is a charity that supports vulnerable families in times of crisis, offering guidance, advice, friendship and practical help to parents with young children across our local community.
You will therefore need to be passionate about wanting to help parents experiencing a range of difficulties and contribute to giving children the best possible start in life.
We are looking for enthusiastic and self motivated individuals who have key skills that can enhance our Board and add to our combined experience.
We are looking for highly qualified and experienced members of the community who are able to support the work of the organisation.
No previous experience of being a trustee is needed, but you must have excellent connections, leadership and governance experience and the ability to work as part of a small team to ensure the best outcomes for the organisation.
You will need sufficient time time to devote to the charity, take part in relevant meetings and have high personal standards of integrity.
Time commitments include quarterly meetings with the CEO, chairing and attending a relevant sub-committee and attending quarterly Board meetings, amounting to approximately 2-3 hours per month.
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this role.
