The Role


As Reference Content Editor, you will develop and maintain content that supports people professionals in their roles, in improving work and working lives, and staying on top of critical issues.

This is a part time role to join our Research, Policy and Content department, in the Knowledge Content team.

We offer hybrid and flexible working which includes compressed hours and an opportunity to work remotely as well as in in our collaborative office space.

The salary advertised is a full-time equivalent salary based on a full time 35 hours working week.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Owning and managing the maintenance, updating, development and delivery of assigned content, in accordance with Content Lifecycle, linked with other CIPD outputs where appropriate, to ensure relevance and timeliness.
  • Accurately publishing and updating content on relevant websites.
  • Monitoring UK employment law developments and producing monthly updates to inform relevant content outputs.
  • Commissioning authors and/or experts inside or outside the organisation to produce content to a specified brief, manage that process and edits it in line with the CIPD values and tone of voice.
  • Working in collaboration with other editors to ensure the content maximises audience impact and reach and is published in a timely way.
  • Monitoring and using audience insight and analytics, adapting existing and developing new content.

What You'll Need To Be Successful

  • Strong editorial experience and ability to adapt content to your audience.
  • Experience planning work and managing content effectively across multiple projects to deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, editing and project management skills with attention to detail and focus on audience need.
  • Ability to assimilate a broad base of knowledge and create clear, accurate content based on research of developments and emerging issues.
  • A good understanding of the online content environment, content management systems and digital technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate delivery to tight deadlines.
