Department Overview:

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:


  • Your Mission:


As an Ops Engineer in the Summit Capability Squad, you will excel in providing support to our users, including supporting batch / end of day processes and provide useful insights where functional change is required.


Your Day-To-Day:


  • You assist with functional specifications for change requests and testing release stories.
  • You readily deal with incidents and requests raised by our users, but also downstream customers.
  • You take ownership of issues and improvements, seeing them through to completion, providing comprehensive handover as required.
  • As part of a crossborder (London, Bucharest, Singapore, New York ) Capability Squad you work in an Agile/Scrum way, on the backlog prioritized by a Product Owner, and you demo your features to other Capability colleagues and the stakeholders alike.
  • Our platform has a global user base of Risk Managers, Traders, Sales in Singapore, Europe and New York, you are responsible for supporting a stable, performing and secure platform/service.
  • Occasional standby on rotation is required (for a week, once every 2 months from around 10 PM, until the Singapore colleagues take over at around 2 AM ).

Qualification/Education

Essential:

  • A graduate in Computer Science or Finance (or related degree).
  • 4+ years of experience in a Summit role.

Desirable:

  • ITIL certified

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • You have strong knowledge of Interest Rate / Credit Derivatives and Treasury Products.
  • Good understanding of the Summit architecture and services as well as experience of the Linux / Unix OS and are capable of supporting batch processes.
  • Good database knowledge (SQL, Oracle)
  • Strong scripting ability python, shell scripting etc.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an agile environment

Essential:

  • Strong communicator and able to work in a pressurised environment to deadlines.
  • You are tenacious and have an analytical mindset.
  • You are able to share your knowledge with team members and provide assistance where necessary.
  • Professional proficiency in the English language and an ability to work in an international environment.
