About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join various schools in Stevenage.

This role involves providing specialized support to students with special educational needs (SEN), under the direction of the SEN Coordinator and classroom teachers.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist SEN students in accessing the curriculum, through tailored support and interventions.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide emotional and social support to SEN students, helping them develop confidence and independence.
  • Facilitate communication between students and their peers, and assist in the development of social skills.
  • Help organize and manage learning environments and resources for SEN students.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students against their educational goals.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A caring and patient approach, committed to the development and welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent are preferred.
  • Must have eligibility to work in the UK and undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
