Description

Enham Trust are looking for a Classroom Assistant to support the effective running and organisation of a Skills2Acheive centre, you will be assisting tutors in the delivery of lessons, advise, guidance and support for learners in a group and individually within sessions in their programme.

You will play a pivotal role in enabling our students to achieve the best possible outcomes, and a key support function in general administration duties in running an educational centre.

We have one vacancy within our Southampton centre and another in our Eastleigh centre.

Travel across the region will be required where needed. We have centres in Southampton, Eastleigh, and Portsmouth.


As our Classroom assistant
you will be responsible for:

Operational

  • To support the centre staff in the maintenance of learner records on the Management InformationSystem (Yeti) including uploading documents, setting up reviews and other tasks as requested
  • To maintain daily centre registers, communicate with any latecomers or nonattenders and to raise attendance concerns with tutors
  • To support tutors in the completion of learner interviews and inductions and set up learners on all systems as required
  • To ensure the classroom is a welcoming, inspiring, learning environment by creating displays of learner work and key information.
  • To prepare classroom/centre for learning sessions as directed by the tutor, including preparation of resources, learner materials, IT equipment and any other material required
  • To set up all new starters IT equipment, including creating MS Teams accounts and ensuring they have access to the correct programmes.
  • To organise learner lunches where needed
  • To use an individualised approach to support learners with their learning who require

What we are looking for from you


Interpersonal skills enabling you to manage relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying communication needs and requirements.

IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft office and systems

Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children

Strong commitment to equal opportunities and have a good level of disability and special educational needs awareness.

Working to your own initiative, using resourcefulness and adaptability to ensure a positive learning experience for our learners

Positive can-do attitude and an agile approach to work

Experience of working with young people

Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment

Experience in general administration duties
