The Company:

Our client is based near Lewisham and is a contractor engaging in both internal and external refurbishment as well as Fit out.

They operate within many sectors including healthcare, education, leisure, residential, public buildings and commercial.

Health and Safety is of high importance to the client who work to an ISO 9001 Quality Assurance system and who are regularly assessed by BSI.

The Role:

Due to expansion within the company and an influx of work, they are looking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team.

As a Health & Safety Advisor you'll provide advice, assistance and guidance to operations with regards to the management of health, safety and environmental issues.

Provide support implementing Safety and Environmental Management Systems
Support the management and operational teams in their line management responsibility for health safety and environment
Liaise with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the SHE Manager
Produce toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHE training materials about health and safety issues and risks
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry

Qualifications & Experience:

Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example, promoting safety culture.
Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (minimum of 2 years)
Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams
Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, Excel
NEBOSH General or Construction is essential
Must hold a current UK Driving License
