About Bounce Back. We work with young people and adults inside and outside of prison, and in the community who may be at risk of or have a history of offending or substance use. Our portfolio of services includes diversion, training and employment services, as well as running a construction social enterprise.

_ Job Purpose_


The Employer Relations Lead plays a critical role in enabling our participants to achieve their long term employment goals, moving towards a life of inclusion rather than exclusion.

The Employer Engagement Lead will work with teams across all of Bounce Back projects promoting the varied employment opportunities available and act as key point of contact for employers who want to hire our participants.


The Employer Engagement Lead will be responsible for the winning and retention of employer partnerships through targeted business development activities.

They will design and implement an employer engagement strategy this will include ways in which we can diversify income streams through long term strategic partnerships.

The Employer Engagement Lead will develop a training package for employers to educate them on recruiting from diverse talent pool.

They will work closely with the Head of Innovation & Growth to identify investment opportunities.

Core Responsibilities_**- Build partnerships with employers across a range of industry sectors through regular sales and development activities

  • Design and deliver presentations offering opportunities to employers beyond hiring participants including corporate sponsorship and volunteering
  • Lead on the delivery of employer engagement events e.g workshops, volunteering, participant work awareness sessions in both prison and community settings
  • Work closely with Prison Employment Leads (PEL) in prison settings and maintain those relationships.
  • Attend PEL Regional Meetings where appropriate.
  • Assist prison colleagues to have a pipeline of participants that can be introduced to employers prior to release and/or on ROTL
  • Collaborate with PELs to run Employer Engagement events in prisons and bring employers into prisons where appropriate.
  • Coordinate all job and training leads identified by colleagues and monitor conversion of engagement to job outcomes
  • Ensure there is a cross section of roles available that meet the needs of participants
  • Keep abreast of developments within the labour market and address skills shortages
  • Oversee the job matching process to ensure teams are setting up their participants for success
  • Provide feedback, guidance and training to teams when the matching process does not go to plan
  • Guide employers through managing criminal conviction disclosures, the rehabilitation of offenders act and the regulations surrounding DBS checks
  • Support both the employer and Bounce Back teams with coordination of interviews, ensuring the participants are fully prepared
  • Ensure employers and participant risk assessments are carried out before participant introductions are made
  • Be available to troubleshoot for employers and teams during the onboarding process to ensure the placements are a success
  • Develop and support the delivery of a training package to employers to support them through the recruitment and sustainment process.
  • Liaise with teams to monitor inwork sustainability and use stories of success to enable the creation of more opportunities with those existing employers
  • Work closely with Employment and Support Coaches to support participant sustainment in employment
  • In partnership with Head of Innovation and Growth, create and maintain a database of employer partners monitoring progress, retention rates and identifying potential gaps
  • Ensure that safeguarding protocols are followed and concerns escalated to safeguarding lead
  • Monitor your performance against KPI's around employer engagement activities, (calls, visits, SLA's, proposals) conversions, (account managed roles, placements, training) retention and growth
  • Work with employer volunteers to deliver preemploy
