We are working with a well-established and market leading transport company, and they are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business ASAP.


Working as part of a regional team and supporting a multi-site client group of c400 employees, the focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the HR function and the development, implementation and monitoring of HR processes across the whole ofthe employment life cycle i.e., from recruitment, end to end ER case management, attendance/ case management and performance matters, through to employee exit.

Key duties will include;

  • Working as part of a busy regional HR team reporting into the Head of HR
  • Generalist HR role, responsible for a client group of c400 employees across c12 sites (South-East, London, and South-West)
  • Oversee and assist recruitment activities with support of a shared service centre; job descriptions, job advertisements, offer letters, contracts of employment, contract amendments and sitting on interview panels as required
  • Overseeing and monitoring staff performance, development and appraisals
  • Work with managers to identify appropriate learning and development interventions to support upskilling and bridging of learning gaps
  • Assisting and developing manpower planning and staffing needs and associated activities, e.g. targeted recruitment campaigns within the region
  • Ensure completion of appropriate employment and vetting checks
  • Providing HR advice and queries to employees and managers, managing their expectations
  • Develop and deliver a robust suite of HR KPI's and data to support improvements within the region
  • Contribute to the evaluation, ongoing review and related actions in respect of policy and procedure development; including salary administration policies, H&S, and promotion and development of staff
  • Supporting the HRBP and management teams to review and investigate capability, grievance and disciplinary matters, resourcing and staff management
  • Support union engagement activities, including preparation for annual union pay negotiations
  • Contribute to organisational design issues, and evaluation of the same e.g. ensuring organisation charts are up to date and reflect efficient staff to management ratios, and ensuring that organisational structures are delivering business performance linkedto business objectives
  • Provide comprehensive support to restructures, redundancy, TUPE activities
  • Review HR policies and ensure they are in line with best practice and current legislation, and reviewed as part of wider HR strategy
  • Provide coaching support to more junior members of the HR team
  • Undertake project work as agreed with Head of HR


Supporting a regional client group, you will be responsible for fully managing your own diary and supporting the business as required - whether that be face to face or video conferencing (so shouldn't be excessive travelling across sites).

Hybrid workingwill be offered once the probation period has been completed.
