The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are seeking multiple CNC Setter/Operators due to company growth.


Reporting to the departmental supervisors and the Managing Director, you will be working as part of a wider team to undertake a variety of CNC duties and produce a wide range of precision components, completed with precision and in a timely manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC machining centres or lathes to carry out a range of turning, milling, and finishing operations
  • Responsible for producing Oil & Gas and Formula 1 components on a range of CNC machinery
  • Working in a variety of materials, such as stainless, inconel, cobalt, and aluminium
  • Ensure that correct programs and tooling are selected
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading process layouts and mechanical drawings
  • Prepare and load materials and components onto the machines
  • Supervise the machines whilst they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments
  • Inspect and measure finished components
  • General housekeeping within your working space
  • Take a proactive approach to managing their own and others' Health & Safety
  • Using CAD software to design programs and ascertain critical information
  • Utilising one's skill set to design fixtures for specific components
  • Completing ongoing quality assurance paperwork
  • Monitor and adjust machine controls manually if programming proves inaccurate or machine is temperamental
  • Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job and their level of responsibility.
  • Undertake overtime as and when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of data and information that is sensitive to the Company, in line with Company policy and the Data Protection Act
  • Adhere to all Company's policies.
  • Report any plant or equipment damage to supervisor/Managing Director
  • Advise supervisor of any damaged tooling or tooling required
  • Reporting any drawing discrepancies to Supervisor

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Training

  • Completed relevant apprenticeship in engineering or a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in the relevant field is desirable
  • Experience of setting and operating a CNC machining centre or lathe
  • Experience producing precision turned or milled components, preferably to low tolerances
  • Familiarity with metric and imperial measurements
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience of machining a variety of materials, including highstrength, heattreated, and ferrous
  • Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
  • Understand basic measurement principles
  • Understanding of basic quality principles

Salary:
£12.50-£17.00 per hour
