We are seeking an experienced individual to manage our press office and social media.

  • Support the MCB Press Office in media relations and outreach activities.
  • Draft articles, reports, and briefings on various issues affecting the Muslim community.
  • Assist in building and maintaining effective communication channels with parliamentarians and policymakers.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategies to combat Islamophobia.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, learning from their expertise and expanding your network.
  • Social Media Posting: Develop and implement social media strategies to amplify the MCB's presence and reach across multiple platforms. Create and schedule engaging posts that inform, educate, and inspire our audience.
  • Social Media Calendar Management: Maintain a wellorganised social media calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery. Plan and schedule posts, campaigns, and relevant events in advance, coordinating with other team members and departments.

Campaign Coverage:
Work closely with the MCB's events, projects, and campaigns teams to provide effective social media coverage. Capture and share key moments, achievements, and updates to enhance visibility and engagement.

  • Engage with Audience: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries across social media platforms promptly and professionally. Foster meaningful dialogue, build relationships, and represent the MCB's values and principles.

Person Specification:


  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in creating and editing video content for social media platforms is essential. Proficiency in using video editing software and knowledge of current video trends is highly desirable.
  • Social Media Management: Proven track record in managing social media accounts and developing effective strategies to increase reach and engagement. Familiarity with social media analytics tools to monitor performance and make datadriven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms. Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset to develop compelling content.
  • Event Coverage: Prior experience in live social media coverage of events, projects, or campaigns is advantageous. Ability to work under pressure and deliver highquality content within tight deadlines.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Knowledge and understanding of Islamic culture, values, and practices is desirable. Sensitivity to diverse communities and an inclusive approach to communication.
  • Time Management: Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity in a parttime role.

Benefits:


You will be able to design a working pattern that suits you, your family, the needs of the job and the team, however you will need to consider that most of the staff remain based in London, and as a result, some travel into central London will be required in order to build and maintain those crucial relationships.
