As a Barclays Red Team Operator, this is an exciting opportunity where you will be conducting Adversarial threat Emulations that are objective driven, to help the organization make more informed risk decisions.

Whilst assessing the ability to protect whatmatters most, and help evaluate the company's ability to detect and respond to adversarial threats.

You will also execute red team threat emulation activities against Barclays business units and the group as a whole.

What will you be doing?:


  • Ensuring safe, quality and realistic adversarial threat simulations are delivered (either remotely or onsite) in line with red team service offerings
  • Working with peer security and technical teams to test and accelerate Barclays capabilities to secure its assets, environments and customers
  • Providing technical findings and executive reports which highlight and clearly articulate identified strengths, gaps and opportunities
  • Supporting strategic partnerships across the group, to develop a trusting and collaborative working environment, using the niche adversarial perspective of the team
  • Executing your role in a professional and empathetic manner, leading others and generating a positive and rewarding team environment
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on cyber security related as needed where niche skills and knowledge can be of benefit
  • Making prompt ethical and morale decisions in a timely manner with limited information, ensuring the best adversarial emulation activities are executed
  • Utilising skills, knowledge and experience to be a catalyst for threat centric organisational change, through respect, trust and influence

What we're looking for:


  • Exceptional technical knowledge in security related domains
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern cyber threat actors, their motivation, scenarios, tools, tactics and procedures
  • Capability to be persistent and creative in solving complex and challenging problems
  • Experience / Training in adversarial threat emulation activities

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Knowledge of Scripting Skills and Tools Development
  • Ability to act and communicate professionally to audiences at all levels
  • Knowledge of defined security domain(s) expertise

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.

The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
