Applications are invited from a suitably qualified pathologist, for the post of Consultant Histopathologist specialising in Gynaecological Pathology and Dermatopathology.

This post is a split-site post comprising Gynaecological Pathology at the Birmingham Women's Hospital and Dermatological Pathology at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

Birmingham Women's & Children's NHSFT will be the employing Trust.


The Department of Cellular Pathology at Birmingham Women's Hospital provides specialist gynaecological pathology services to the Birmingham Women's Hospital NHS Trust, which is a Cancer Unit, and to the Regional Gynaecological Cancer Centre at City Hospital, which is part of the Pan-Birmingham Cancer Network.

The applicant must have some experience in gynaecological pathology and will join a team of 4 consultant gynaecological pathologists to deliver this specialist service.

The post-holder is expected to attend multidisciplinary team meetings, and participate in relevant EQA schemes, CPD, departmental educational activities and the regional pathology training programme.

The Cellular Pathology Service at New Cross Hospital is fully subspecialised. Each Consultant Pathologist provides diagnostic expertise and MDT/CPC support in - 4 subspecialties. The applicant must have some experience of Dermatopathology and will provide support in the subspecialty of Dermatopathology.
