This role has a starting salary of £29,291 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.


We have an exciting opportunity for an
Assistant Recruitment and Marketing Officer to join our fantastic Surrey County Council Fostering Service.


Please note; This is a 12 month fixed term contract, not available as a secondment.


We are looking for an Assistant Marketing and Recruitment Officer to provide support within the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team working alongside the Marketing and Recruitment Officer as well as Qualified Social Work and unqualified support staffin wider Fostering Service.

The Assistant Marketing and Recruitment Officer will;
- take responsibility for monitoring online expressions of interest and answering the telephone line dedicated for initial enquiries from prospective foster carers
- be responsible for maintaining records relating to initial enquiries and initial visits
- assist in developing and maintaining the Surrey Fostering Services relationship with prospective, new and approved foster carers
- assist with making arrangements for and delivering appropriate training programmes offered to prospective foster carers and their children
- assist with the planning, organising and attending recruitment events. This will include occasional evening or weekend working
- provide assistance in maintaining and collating data relating to activity to promote the recruitment of new foster carers
- aid with general communication including monitoring, updating, design and production of social media content and production of leaflets


The Assistant Marketing and Recruitment Officer may be asked to perform other tasks across the Fostering Service in order to support recruitment and retention projects as required.

This work would be commensurate with the scale and scope of the AssistantMarketing and Recruitment Officer role.

In order to be considered for shortlisting, we would love to hear about your;

  • Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of practitioners working in a childcare environment
  • Appreciation of best practice approaches in childcare Basic awareness of relevant legislation affecting working with children, including the Children Act and the Children and Adoption Act (2002)
  • Selfawareness and willingness to learn and undertake training


Due to the fact you will need may need to travel across our sites in the county, we also request that you hold a full driving licence and use of a car.
