    Description

Join a Leading Mid-Market Private Equity Firm as a Junior Associate

A reputable firm in the private equity and investment management industry is seeking a highly motivated Junior Associate to join its growing London-based investment team. Focused on defensive growth sectors such as healthcare, consumer goods, and support services, the firm boasts a hands-on approach, operational focus, and a proven track record of value creation across Europe.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate with strong analytical skills to play a core role across the full deal lifecycle — from sourcing and execution to portfolio strategy and exit planning. You will work closely with experienced investors on complex transactions, including carve-outs, platform builds, and transformational growth initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support deal teams through origination, execution, and portfolio management, driving business development and strategic growth.
    • Build sophisticated financial models, conduct valuation analyses, and drive industry and company research to support investment decisions.
    • Assist in preparing comprehensive investment committee papers and strategic board materials, leveraging strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Participate in commercial, financial, and operational due diligence, providing critical insights and recommendations.
    • Monitor portfolio performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and support value creation efforts, fostering long-term sustainable growth.
    • Liaise with external advisers and contribute to cross-functional deal workstreams, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective project delivery.

    Requirements

    • 2–4 years' experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services, or private equity, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
    • Excellent academic background with a degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a quantitative field, backed by advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
    • Commercially astute, intellectually curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic and genuine interest in long-term value creation.
    • Strong written and verbal communicator, confident producing high-quality board-level materials, and a self-starter with a passion for learning and professional development.

    About the Opportunity

    • Work alongside a high-calibre team on industry-shaping investments, gaining early exposure to boardrooms, strategic planning, and operational transformation.
    • Take on real responsibility in a flat, collaborative environment, accelerating your learning with direct mentorship from experienced investors.
    • Build a long-term career at a firm committed to sustainable growth, talent development, and a culture of excellence.
