Description
We are currently working in conjunction with a Plastics Manufacturing company based near Padiham who are seeking Production / Press Machine Operators to join their team.
Essential Duties
- Working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment with fast moving delivery timescales.
- Operating press machines to produce products for the plastics industry.
- Mould custom/special products, ensuring the correct materials are used and the job cards are filled and signed where required.
- Ensure job card instructions are followed and understood, work is prioritised inline with due dates, informing the Manager of any issues that may effect "On-Time deliveries".
- Work in line with relevant process as instructed by management internally.
- Ensure lift performance is maximized, where possible.
- Ensure only good, quality products are passed along to the next stage.
- Always maintain housekeeping to the highest possible standard and the end of the shift clean down is finished.
- Ensure that an end / start handover is done and understood.
- Work to assigned schedules and adhere to company timekeeping policy.
- Follow health and safety rules and regulations.
- Communicating effectively as part of a team.
- General warehouse duties as an when required in busier periods.
What is required?
- Relevant experience, preferably in a press machine operation / manufacturing setting
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable and predictable attendance
What are the particulars of the role?
- Working pattern: 6am 2pm (week 1) and 2pm 10pm (week 2).
- Pay rate: £10.80 per hour, 10% shift allowance on top (up to £11.88 per hour)
- Overtime: Available in busier periods
- Employment term: 12 weeks temporary to permanent contract.
- Start date: Immediate starts available.
- May be lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Bending.
- Reaching.
- Hand/finger manipulation.
