Do you have a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you patient, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour? If so, we want you to join our team as a

Behaviour Mentor for a specialist SEN school in

Barking and Dagenham.


As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working with children who require additional support to manage their behaviour in a school setting.

Your role will involve providing one-to-one support and group interventions, helping students to overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with the school's SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to create a nurturing environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their behaviour and engage in learning activities.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to support student success.
  • Design and implement behaviour management plans, and identify triggers and strategies to prevent challenging behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with students, offering guidance and support to promote social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to support the school's behaviour policies and ensure the safety and welfare of students.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, including behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • A warm, empathetic, and patient personality with the ability to build strong relationships with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to providing the best possible support to our students.
