Description

We're a 19 bed residential and EMI care home near Tonypandy and we're looking for a Cook to join our team.

You will:
- need to have hands-on experience of catering in residential care home settings.
- be responsible for ensuring the kitchen is managed effectively, by being organised and following statutory guidance, the Home's policies and procedures, as well as working closely with the senior leadership team.
- help for create and publish seasonal menus based on freshly prepared meals and satisfying the nutritional needs of our residents.
- work with the Head Cook on stock control and ordering of food and cleaning materials
- carry out audits to ensure an effective FSMS is being implemented
- help manage the kitchen staffing rota around holiday periods
- help the rest of the kitchen staff to gain a solid understanding of HACCP at the Home

You will need to have a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification as a minimum, and be working towards Level 3.

This is a part-time position (17 hours) and will be required to work alternate weekends as part of a rotating rota.
