We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer.

Through a proactive approach to right first-time quality, the purpose of the role is to support the growth of the Company by enhancing the reputation of the business through exceptional quality standardsand contribute towards a significant reduction in overall manufacturing costs.


The role is responsible for assuring right first-time quality, promoting a major improvement in the quality of incoming parts from suppliers, and in-house quality along the full front-to-back manufacturing process.

As a Quality Engineer you will be involved in:

Internal Focus

  • Be assisting the Quality Manager with supporting Production, Finished Goods and Raw Materials warehousing teams
  • Developing good knowledge of Premdor's manufacturing process to understand why defects are created
  • Qualitying assistance at different stages in manufacturing processes
  • Analyzing the scrap and rework data, raising A3 investigations based on data analysis, liaising with the relevant teams and through teamwork finding the source of the problem and put into place robust corrective actions to enhance productivity and lowercost of quality
  • Representing Quality department at Tier meetings daily
  • Being involved in and helping to maintain an internal nonconformance system
  • Providing support and guidance to production for carrying out investigations of nonconforming products (overseeing effective root cause analyses and corrective actions on shop floor)
  • Perform and support internal audits
  • Overseeing the internal calibration process
  • Overseeing incoming materials inspection process
  • Visible in factory and takes lead in solving quality related problems with production teams

Customer wise:


  • Providing quality assistance and advice for sales department both for internal sales team and field support managers
  • Involvement in the credit notes process (if required) advising sales teams regarding approving/declining credit requests, offering quality expertise in dealing with credit notes process
  • Creating and maintaining an external nonconformance system for key customer: Travis Perkins, Wickes, Magnet;
  • Carrying out investigations for Customer nonconformances raised as required, (overseeing effective root cause analyses and corrective actions on shop floor)
  • Driving concept of customer quality with production teams and not allow defects to customer

Dealing with Suppliers

  • Assisting in the management of a supplier nonconformance system
  • Assessment of rejected raw materials and issuing nonconformances to suppliers where applicable and as required
  • Liaising with suppliers to close out the nonconformances as required
  • Assisting in the coordination of the credit requests and receipts for the nonconforming products
  • Assisting the Quality Team to solve supplier issues

Working on Continuous improvement projects

  • Providing quality assistance and expertise for the CI team onsite and for the quality team
  • Working with external suppliers and technical department on improvements for incoming goods with the main objective of cost saving and improving the quality of materials received
  • Working with Group Sourcing team, organizing trials/material assessment
  • Running trials to solve current internal quality production issues
  • Liaising with other facilities in the group on quality matters
  • Improvement projects related to Customer experience

About you

  • Proven track record in Quality Assurance within the Manufacturing and Engineering sectors
  • Experience in Manufacturing Process Quality
  • Engineering degree in industrial/process engineering or equivalent experience
  • CI, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology experience, Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert qualifications would be an asset
  • Extensive understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerance
