As Barclays Training, Testing and Risk Assessment manager you will produce and manage 1LOD Financial Crime ('FC') training, education and controls testing for Business Banking.

You are responsible for monitoring assurance testing and overall control managementacross Financial Crime.

You will report and asses on the effectiveness of FC controls, as well as developing a pipeline of training and communications activity aligned to our risks, delivering FC training and education to colleagues across the business.

What will you be doing?:


  • Maintaining an ongoing Financial Crime training and education programme across Business Banking, including 1LoD Financial Crime, front line & operational colleagues
  • Adapting any training programmes to emerging Financial Crime risks
  • Ensuring appropriate coordination of the Financial Crime Risk Assessment
  • Providing escalation and outputs of any control reviews escalating where applicable
  • Working in collaboration key stakeholders to understand inherent risks and control weaknesses
  • Identifying, assessing and documenting key controls within assigned area, highlighting control weaknesses /gaps and providing recommendations for risk mitigation
  • You will need to fully understand the issue, highlight risk and control gaps and provide a full report to senior management.
  • You will raise mitigating actions in conjunction with the relevant business areas for tactical solutions and recommend further workstreams strategic solutions if required

What we're looking for:


  • Knowledge of Financial Crime and controls standards, risk identification and controls testing experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with high level of PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
  • Ability to challenge, proactive selfstarter, with knowledge of customer base dynamics, and experience in business banking
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence key decisions with the assistance of factual data based evidence

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • ICA Diploma in relevant Financial Crime discipline
