Export Supervisor - Freight Forwarding - Bradford - Up to £45,000

About the Company
The business is a long-established Freight Forwarder who have offices around the UK, this position is based in Bradford. The company is looking to recruit an Export Supervisor for their road freight department.

The purpose of this role will be to support the Export Manager in the daily running and organisation of the Export Department.

You will take ownership of daily planning, maximise trailer capacity and plan the most cost-effective routes, taking into considerationcustoms stops.

You will need to ensure client deadlines are met, customs stops are informed and ready to clear and deliveries are made in a timely manner.

Export Supervisor - Requirements

  • Experience working for a freight forwarder is essential
  • Minimum of three years working within road freight operations
  • Ideally you will have experience supervising a road freight team
  • Fully conversant with European road freight operations and legislation
  • A good understanding of Incoterms

Export Supervisor - Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily operations where required, overseeing own markets and offering advice / training to members of staff where required
  • Keeping an eye on market trends with regards to rates and fluctuations
  • Sourcing trailers and competitive rates from European Trailer Operators
  • Liaising with customs agents / brokers to ensure swift clearance is made
  • Planning routes efficiently and effectively, making provisions for driver restrictions / requirements and taking into account customs clearance stops prior to planned deliveries
  • Ensuring all company systems are updated accurately and on a timely basis and relevant paperwork is in place
  • Reviewing and updating plans and communicate any changes in good time of arrangements being made
  • Offer solutions and alternatives to meet customer demands. To meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Good understanding of Incoterms and their interaction with shippers' instructions
  • Checking on the International vehicles and confirming deliveries have been made
  • Checking T1's have been released upon delivery, if not, liaise with broker / partner
  • Charging and rating the trailer files
  • Data quality ensure all members of the team are aware and invested in the importance of data quality
  • Ensure shifts are covered and the correct people are on the correct shifts and supported correctly
