Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable, approachable and well organised individual to coordinate the work of our information rights team.

If you have experience in dealing with Freedom of Information requests under the FOI Act, access to records requests under the Data Protection Act and other associated legislation and experience of managing archiving processes we would be keen to hear from you.

The role is based in Luton (with the opportunity for some home / remote working) but supports information rights across the Trust.


  • Be a first point of contact across the Trust when individuals or their representatives seek access to their personal information
  • Check clinical and other systems to determine where care was received and ensure the request is forwarded to the relevant access to records lead(s)
  • Ensure access to records requests for personal information made to the first point of contact under the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulation, Access to Health Records Act 1990, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and any other associated legislation are logged, processed and responded to in accordance with legislation and legal timescales
  • Provide routine advice and assistance to requesters or their representatives seeking access to their personal information
  • Work closely with designated access to records leads across the Trust to ensure requests are dealt with appropriately and within timescales
  • Improve and develop the access to records service across the Trust, making changes to policy and procedure where necessary to support delivery
