We are recruiting for a Financial Planning practice in Milton Keynes who are looking for a Paraplanner Team Leader to join their team.


Key Responsibilities:
-


  • Manage paraplanning team and workflow.
  • Oversight of the report queue:
  • Primary liaison between the advisers and paraplanning team:
  • Keep them informed on report timescales
  • Prioritise reports as needed
  • Chase advisers for information, should they not be responding to requests from other members of the Paraplanning team
  • Discuss and deal with any issues advisers may be having with the paraplanning team
  • Checking reports/work for trainee paraplanners (or indeed more complex ones for senior paraplanners, if required).
  • Checking other reports/projects/wordings etc as requested by the Partners, or the Compliance Manager etc.
  • Put in place training for all Paraplanners as needed (both internal processes and product/platform knowledge); more structured training for Trainee Paraplanners and new starters.
  • Sign off new starters, when competent (usually 6m +), upwardly refer to HR and provide supporting evidence.
  • Sign off trainees, when competent (usually 2yrs +), upwardly refer to HR/Compliance Manager.
  • Spotcheck paraplanning work periodically across the team to ensure compliance with the firm's processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Paraplanning team reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation of weekly MI
  • Summary of Paraplanning workloads at company meetings
  • Provide feedback for staff generally and paraplanners specifically for twice yearly appraisals, upwardly refer to HR
  • Feedback on trainees to the Partners/Compliance Manager
  • Attendance and participation in Operations Meetings, to provide PP feedback as needed whole meeting attendance not required
  • Attendance and participation in Team Leader meetings, to provide PP feedback as needed.
  • Run Paraplanner team meetings, communication with the paraplanning team over any issues
  • Product and Platform Due Diligence, and to a lesser extent fund due diligence
  • General monitoring of workloads, may result in a recommendation to HR e.g. further staff required or reallocation of resource
  • Updating the software used to reflect quarterly changes in our CAP models
  • Maintaining and enhancing the firms report writing software plus any other communication material held outside of this but used by the team.
  • The maintenance and provision of training re all software used by paraplanners to fulfil their role.
  • Project/Systems work as required.
  • The Team Leader role is in addition to fulfilling the role of 'Paraplanner
' This includes:


  • Liaison with the planner to discuss client objectives /missing information etc and keep them updated re progress.
  • Undertaking technical research
  • Preparation of well written and compliant suitability reports
  • The timely issue of client reports and accompanying documentation
  • Maintain awareness of, and act in accordance with, all compliance and legislative obligations.
  • Proactively enhance industry and company knowledge through internal and external sources.
  • Maintain core systems ensuring that all tasks are carried out and completed in line with company policy and procedures.

Systems:

  • Technically competent with:
  • Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams to intermediate level
  • Competent with Intelligent Office (backoffice system) or similar
  • Competent with ATEB, Selectapension, Voyant, DocuSign, and FE Analytics.
  • Detailed knowledge of platforms ideally:
  • Quilter, Aviva, M&G and Aegon ARC

Personal Specification:
-


  • Ideally Diploma qualified as a minimum, ideally working towards the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
  • Ideally with at least, 5+ years' experience as a Paraplanner
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, organised, effective time management and ability to prioritise workload
  • Problem solving resolving indepth problems and issues to find appropriate solutions
  • Ability to lead a team, making decisions as needed
