Job Purpose:


As a Marketing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the marketing efforts of the Wilderness Group, particularly in administrative tasks and ensuring smooth operations within the marketing department.


You will be responsible for supporting our Wilderness Group B2C brands (Wilderness Scotland | Wilderness Ireland | Wilderness England) and trade-facing communications as the (Wilderness Group).

Key Responsibilities:


- Visual Media Coordination - Photo tagging, selecting imagery, retouching of images and online gallery management.


- Social Media Support - Supporting the Marketing Executives with image selection, copywriting, scheduling, and moderating social media posts across various platforms.


- Updating, Building, and Proofreading Written Digital Content - Building and updating content across all the brands and proofreading cross-channel content. The role also includes distributing content across relevant channels.


- Referral Maintenance - Updating our various referral partner website listings.


- Adhoc Marketing Administration & Research - The post holder will perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones, data entry, booking travel, and checking the marketing general inbox. Conduct market research to gather data on consumer trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.


The Role:


Visual Media Coordination
You will coordinate visual media for the Wilderness Group.

Day-to-day involves creating galleries, ensuring client and agent galleries are reviewed and sent out, and ensuring images are tagged, retouched if necessary, and stored appropriately.


Social Media Support
Within the Wilderness Group, maintaining an active and engaging social media presence is crucial.

While our Marketing Executives and dedicated Videographer & Content Creator handle day-to-day social media management, your role as Marketing Assistant is vital in providing support.

You will assist in tasks such as image selection, creative copywriting, and scheduling of social media posts across our platforms.

Additionally, you'll be responsible for helping moderate and engage with multi-channel social media posts, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to consumer interactions and comments.


Updating, Building and Proofreading Written Digital Content

To maintain the highest standards of published content, you must be able to proofread your work and that of others, drawing on a high command of English, product knowledge of the destinations in which we operate and messaging.


Referral Maintenance
You'll regularly update our various referral website listings, ensuring accuracy in trips, images, dates, links, and prices.

Your role as a Marketing Assistant will be highly valued in driving our brand's online visibility and maintaining credibility through meticulous content management.


Adhoc Marketing Administration & Research

Your role as Marketing Assistant is also responsible for essential administrative tasks vital to the smooth functioning of the marketing department within the Wilderness Group.

This includes handling general inquiries by answering phones, doing data entry tasks, coordinating travel arrangements, monitoring the marketing general inbox, and promptly responding to queries or directing them to the appropriate team member for resolution.

Additionally, you'll occasionally engage in market research to gather valuable insights on consumer trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.

Your responsibility will extend to summarising these findings effectively, contributing to informed decision-making processes and the development of targeted marketing strategies, campaigns and promotions.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience or education in marketing, communications, administration or a related field.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices.
  • Strong writing ability, including copywriting, editing, and proofreading.
  • Image editing competency, ideally using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A proven team player with the ability to work well in collaboration with team members both in person and remotely.
