Job Summary:

A North West based Local Planning Authority has a requirement for a Senior Policy Officer, for a rolling 6 month contract.

This role will involve you playing a vital part in the development of a Local Plan documents for a town centre regeneration project, producing area based DPD documents, site allocations DPD's for new developments in and around the town centre.

Other duties that tie into this process will include finalising CIL charging schedules, In conjunction with having responsibility for updating and reviewing the existing Local Plan documents across key areas such as housing, infrastructure delivery, Green corridors, employment land and open space etc.

Key duties in this post include:

Drafting technical planning policy documents in conjunction with updating and revising existing documents.
Progress Local Plan policies through all relevant informal and statutory procedures
Coordinating extensive consultation exercises through liaison with community groups and strategic partners etc.
Review and update existing evidence base and policy documents to maximise the effectiveness of the councils Local Plan and emerging policies.
Appear and represent the council at examination when necessary
Negotiating with land owners
Conduct member briefings
