Senior HRBP - Birmingham (hybrid) - £55,984


As part of the People Directorate, you will report to the Head of People and have direct line responsibility for the HR Business Partners and the HR systems and Data Lead team.

As the most senior HRBP you will act as the HR expert in relation to advice,guidance. You will lead the team to provide high level people management and development support across the business at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Work in close partnership with the Head of People to lead and develop strategic activities to support the client's goal and priorities
  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to all levels of stakeholders from the Executive team to supervisors on HR matters,supporting managers in dealing with complex employee relations issues.
  • Identify HR priorities from the People Strategy and operational plan, translating priorities into effective HR practices and people solutions.
  • Deliver key HR initiatives, including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward,employee relations, employee engagement and performance management.
  • Work with third party providers and the Procurement team to ensure that services meet business needs and are delivered to agreed standards and timescales.
  • Analyse HR information ensuring that the team utilise the People Dashboard to support the development of HR strategies and solutions within teams.
  • Maintain a clear understanding and in turn provide up to date knowledge of the legal environment within which HR must operate.
  • Develop modern HR policies in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Provide strong leadership by coaching and mentoring the HR team
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the recognised trade unions, leading negotiations where necessary.
  • Ensure that all people systems are comprehensive, efficient, reliable and fulfil the needs of staff
  • Take opportunities to introduce the use of digital technologies which will provide a range of data and reporting information for Managers, Directors, Committees and Board

To fulfil the requirements of this role you will have experience, skills, and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Significant experience of working in HR / People function at a similar level
  • CIPD qualified to Level 5 and working towards Advanced level
  • The ability to align operational activity with strategic intent by being a strategic thinker
  • Sound HR acumen the ability to understand the impact of decisions and actions
  • Experience of positively influencing the actions and decisions of stakeholders in the best interests of the business
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • The ability to work flexibly and pro actively, seeking out creative solutions to complex business issues
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience of project management, including advising and influencing change consisting of projects with financial elements
  • The ability to drive continuous improvement within your own area of responsibility
  • Experience of taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and where appropriated, escalated.
  • Commitment to personal development of self and others
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to provide high level of customer service
  • Full UK driving licence to enable you to travel across areas where the client operates
