Binnacle is a specialist insurance provider set up to work with the British Holiday & Home Parks Association to administer and underwrite risks for its members and their customers.
Binnacle is part of the Precision Partnership Limited who are the holding company for a collection of FCA regulated businesses who specialise in insurance distribution across a range of sectors including commercial, leisure, professional risks, private clients, transportation & associated industries.

About the Job
We are looking for a Commercial Underwriter for underwriting and servicing various commercial risks for both new and existing business whilst delivering excellent technical support.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to handle queries from customers, brokers and colleagues in a timely and efficient manner whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
- Support with the retention of our existing portfolio, ensuring a smooth and efficient process with a clear focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the completion of daytoday administration including the processing of renewals, new business, midterm adjustments and cancellations.
- Work alongside Binnacle's dedicated Regional Accounts Team to offer support.
- Able to identify clients with multiple risks which may require insurer referral and is aware of the referral process.
- Underwrite new and existing business within own authority and in accordance with the Binnacle's underwriting strategy and guide.
- Actively expand product knowledge.
- Be aware and act within the limit of your individual licence level and understand what you need to demonstrate to increase to the next level.
- You must have the knowledge and confidence to support any technical queries across our product range from insurer referrals to claims support/scenarios and referring when appropriate.
- Be a true advocate of our business vision & values, demonstrating this at each interaction with colleagues and customers alike.
- Actively take responsibility to manage your own performance and selfdevelopment ensuring continuous improvement.
Skills, Qualifications, And Experience
- Minimum of 12 months Insurance experience
- GCSE Maths and English (A
- C) or equivalent
- Cert CII (Desirable)
- A proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Possess excellent attention to detail
- Have an awareness and understanding of Compliance rules, TCF guidelines and FCA Regulations and how to comply with them
- Comfortable working under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Solid organisational skills and detailoriented
- Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships with colleagues, customers and brokers
- Leisure Park industry knowledge would be ideal but not essential
