£33,348 to £43,155 per annum

The Role


As part of our commitment to career development for research colleagues, the University has developed 3 levels of research role profiles.

These profiles set out firstly the generic competences and responsibilities expected of role holders at each level and secondly the general qualifications and experiences needed for entry at a particular level.

Key Accountabilities
Managing survey/interview data, helping with and overseeing the transcription and translation of interviews
Sourcing materials and compile the online film database and film festival database
Managing the archive website
Sorting out films in the archive collection
Helping to organize archive activities

The Person
A PhD in the area of Chinese cinema studies
Native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English
Experience of collaborating with non-academic stakeholders
Solid IT skills, and ability to maintain website and social media
Ability to work independently and effectively in a team
A demonstrable interest in independent film culture in China
